Register for a Recruitment Open Day!

Lagan Valley LeisurePlex is holding two unique recruitment open days for the positions of Leisure Assistant and Trainee Leisure Assistant. The recruitment days will take place on Thursday 24 February, 5pm-9pm and Saturday 26 February, 11am-5pm.

By attending an open day, candidates will have the opportunity to complete a swimming test, fill out an application form and interview - all on the same day. It is a great way to fast track through the recruitment and selection process.

Councillor Thomas Beckett, Vice Chair of the Leisure & Community Development Committee welcomed the recruitment open days: “The LeisurePlex is currently recruiting for Leisure Assistants, which is an exciting opportunity for prospective staff to work in a dynamic and energetic environment. The facility is one of Northern Ireland’s leading visitor attractions which will open doors to a wealth of skills and experience in the leisure and tourism sector.

“The council has also recently created a Trainee Leisure Assistant role which means staff will be taken through a NPLQ Qualification, which is a fantastic personal development prospect. Once qualified, trainees will then progress to the Leisure Assistant role on a higher salary band.

“A number of roles are available on a full time, part-time and casual basis. It is essential that all applicants can complete a basic swimming test, which is the first part of the recruitment process. A National Lifeguarding Qualification is also desirable but not essential.”

The rate of pay for a Leisure Assistant role is £10.01 per hour and the Trainee Leisure Assistant is £9.62 per hour. The Trainee role rate will rise to £10.01 once qualified.
