The four day event was organised by Swim Ireland and attracted teams from across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Presenting the medals at the event, the Deputy Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Amanda Grehan said, “The Council is honoured to host a national competition and welcome clubs from Swim Ireland to Lisburn & Castlereagh. I was delighted to meet many of the swimmers and their supporters who had travelled a great distance to take part in the competition. It was fantastic to watch so many exciting races and I was particularly delighted to see many local swimmers achieve medal success.” “I hope the participants, officials and spectators enjoyed their time with us and I look forward to welcoming many of them back to the Council area in the very near future”, concluded the Deputy Mayor. The Chairman of the Council’s Leisure & Community Development Committee added, “Lagan Valley LeisurePlex has a proud history of hosting prestigious sporting events and we are delighted to continue this success by again hosting the Irish National Swimming Championships.
